arctic cat trv 500 (somewhat OT)

I bought my arctic cat new in 2005 and use it mostly around the farm. It has been running rough under load and I can't seen to figure out why.It has about 600 miles on it. I have changed the plug as it seems to foul with black carbon too easily suggesting that it is running too rich which suggests that the automatic choke may not be working. That doesn't help. Can't find any instructions on how to set or adjust this set up. Anybody here offer any suggestions besides taking it to the dealer? thanks, Leon

Put a can of carb cleaner through it and put fuel stabilizer in you gas tank, often the carbs gum up from the cheap lousy fuel we get at the pumps, the machine sits for a few weeks and then gums up.

You should be using 91 octane at a minimum. If left sitting for a while put in the fuel tank the proper amount of Staybil. Some carb cleaner will help loosen things up. I run my Arctic Cat 500 at least once a week and It has no problems such as you discribe. It is a 2007 year model and should be comparable to yours. Mine has a Suzuki Engine as I would guess yours does too.The new Models 500's have mostly engines of Arctic Cat Mfg.
