OT. Seed Tenders

As if the Arthritis in my shoulder and back wasn't bad enough, busting two ribs this winter is going to make it even more painfull filling my seed hoppers on my 12 row planter this spring. The cheapest seed tender I have found is still over $8,000. I think that's too much for something I'm only going to use 6 weeks out of a year. Has anyone built their own seed tender, or know of someone who has?

How many acres do you want to handle with it? I've seen things as simple as a bin on skids that you can lift up on your loader with a chunk of hose on the bottom you can swing around enough to fill the hoppers, to plain old bulk tote bags set up similarly, right on up to some pretty fancy setups. Do you have a gravity wagon now? You should be able to add an auger onto it fairly cheaply.
