Screwin' with Scammers

I sent an inquiry to that fellow that was scamming the 730 Diesel, Wide Front, Electric Start, No spinout rims. When I learned what he was trying to do, I typed up my usual nasty e-mail telling him what I thought of him. Just before I hit send, I thought I'll play along. Here is some of the questions I asked him, fully knowing there was no answer.

I had a few other questions to ask
1. How are the power brakes, do they leak any fluid?
2. Does this tractor have the 18V or 36V starting system?
3. Does this machine have the two stick trans with the high low option for reverse?
4. Does this tractor have a distributor and coil, or a magneto?
5. Have you had to add any air to the float ride seat suspension?
6. Have you checked the aircleaner lately, when they get old they accumulate oil in the bath pan.
7. Have you ever moved the spin out rims?
8. Does this machine have the optional pull start rope for low battery conditions?
9. What is the roll-o-matic suspension like, did the front shocks get replaced during the overhaul?
10. Does the foot throttle stick, or is it pretty free?

I know this seems like a lot of questions but I am quite interested. Thanks for your time, I hope to hear from you soon. Chris.

His reply was:

Chris,
The power brakes are good, they leak no fluid. The tractor has the 36v starting system. The machine has the two stick transmission with the high low option for reverse. It has a distributor and coil. I never added any air to the float ride seat suspension, maybe my grand father did before he died. The aircleaner is almost new. I've never moved the spin out rims. The machine has the optional pull start rope for low battery conditions. The front shocks were replaced during the overhaul. The front throttle is pretty free.
I was very happy to answer to all your questions.

Hope you all get a laugh!

You should've told him payment in full when delivered to your private island in the middle of lake Erie .

Thats pretty good. Way I see it the more time spamers spend answering bull crap questions like this is a little time they are not stealing from poor old folks.

I had a wanted to buy add up one time for a draw bar for a ford 960. Got an email from a nice lady who had just what I was looking for, all i had to do was send a money order to queens NY and she whould ups it to me. I did about the same to here. When I got done she was telling me the one she had was factory original staneless steel painted pink and had adjustable hight on it.

That's a good way to mess with a scammer. They post a lot of compact tractors on the craigslist sites in our area with stupidly low prices. Below the picture there is always a line of off the wall text.

also, have the muffler bearings been replaced recently?

It's great fun to go to a chain parts place and ask for a radiator hose for a Corvair. They will invariably start looking one up.

That's pretty good a 730 with a rope start--LOL

Keep him going, ask him if the spark plugs were changed on the pony motor since it has rope start option. and whether it runs on gas or kerosene.

You may want to ask if the diesel pump is electric or mechanical. also is the exhaust an updraft system, or pressure fed.--LOL

That way you have the option to back out

Oh don't worry, I told him that machine wasn't for me and I'd rather have a high crop-wide front 530. We'll see what he turns up.

Looks and sounds like he had the same intentions as you, the way he answered your questions.

Be shure to ask about the "Kenuuder valve"! I liked the rope start one! Something else you might try is to add a fake CIA email address like you forwarded it to the CIA, just so he will delete your email from his computer if he is actually smart enough to think of that.

You forgot to ask if he changed the air in the tires regulary. I would not buy a tractor that had summer air in the tires this time of year. LOL

I have been screwing with the same guy for a few days.He says his agent will deliver the tractor free.I told him that I didn't trust his agent but if he could deliver it to my house I would pay him in cash .I would like to put my lawn chair out by the end of the lane and wait for it to come but its too darn cold
