its cold -4 F some of you guys were saying it was starting to look like spring,we had a couple 40 degree days last week ,and not talking any real warm weather coming its almost march where is Al Gore and global warming? I'm in northwest wisconsin

it's two-and-a-half degrees above this morn. i really do hope it's like this tomorrow morn so that we, or maybe i should say "they" can drive the trucks on the grass to clean out the chicken house/bean bin.

just a slightly 'humorous' note-my very good friend and neighbor is bringing his tractor over to run the vac, cause my arm is in a sling, and then that afternoon HE is going to have rotator cuff surgery too. we've been good friends for so long now (35 years) that our afflictions are rubbing off on each other. can't wait till we walk into the coffee shop together. we should cock our hats sideways too. jim

spring moves north 30 miles a day, just need to figure out where it is now, 22nd of Feb. is along way from spring in Mn, SD or Wi!

well MN joe winter started here about a month or more early this year so i was hoping for an early spring I usually dont mind the winter but it seems like its really dragging on this year,I must be getting old,thanks for your wisdom

Spring is nearly here in NC. Temp is in the 40's today and will be in the 60's by the end of the week. I have been getting the itch to do some plowing recently.

Somebody on here said his snowplowing work was really tapering off a few days ago, so can spring be far behind? Well, unfortunately, in the far north, yeah. . .

While I could cheat and show you pictures of plants we put in the ground in the fall and that grow all winter like pansy;

or some of our spring flowering bulbs; Let me add a few pictures of spring moving in.
Some trees are starting to sprout;

About 50 miles south of me everyone is starting to cut grass because the weeds are so tall. They have a large lake that protects them from the cold north wind so their winters are much shorter than mine and even have a different hardiness zone.

It's not much better across the lake here in Michigan. I'm SOOOO sick of winter. Even the believers are smart enough not to bring up global warming in public these days.

I saw a robin last week here in SE SD so it can't be to far off now. Kinda early to see them already though.

No Kidding,Some spots of green grass,and some flowers peekin through in some of Mom's flower beds,even saw some buds on a fruit tree the other day

Spring is no where near me. Just got a foot of snow over the last 4 days. Before that we got some warm weather. Spring is ATLEAST 1 1/2 months away and it may snow a couple times after that.

Al Gore is down here in South East Australia,
Extract from the local newspaper.

"Bendigo has had it's second longest dry spell in almost 150 years broken.
A paltry 0.4 millimetres fell yesterday morning,breaking a run of 50 consecutive days without rain.
The parched start to 2009 looked set to break records for all the wrong reasons until yesterday's shower.
The rainfall saved Bendigo from its driest February since records began in 1864.
The driest February occured in 1997 when only 0.2 millimetres fell for the month.
Six years earlier ,Bendigo was in the midst of its longest ever dry spell ,a 62 day stretch without rain.
............The period Jan 1 2009 until February 19 2009 became the secondest longest dry streak in recorded history on Wednesday beating a 48 day period between January 1 and February 17, 1906."

Twice at the tail end of 100 years,to me, is not a coincidence,Last Saturday week[Black Saturday Bushfires} was the hottest temperature EVER.
