OK guys need some help here.A good friend a auctioneer is having a auction in a month. He said he found a "Hedlund pickar" pickle picker.Let me try to describe it as he did to me.It has 2 flat boards where 2 people laid on there stomach. The boards are about 12 inches off the ground. It has a chain conveyor running between the 2 people and the conveyor goes up in the air to dump into a wagon. There is a gas motor that runs the conveyor.Anyone ever hear of any thing like this? Thanks

Ive seen a cucumber picker in action a few years back just West of Lamar,Mo a few miles. It took 4 rows, carried them in a bin on its back, and self dumped into a hopper trailer.

Similar equipment used in asparagras operations.
Really busy pickle operations around here use a one pass machine that picks the entire crop mechanically. Needless to say there's no second picking!

Back when we raised pickles for Gedney we owned 2. We called them creepers. We would lay on our bellies and pick away..Would pick them and toss them into the conveyor. We would have a gunny sack on the end. Ours had plywood roofs for shade. We would steer with our feet. This is back in 1968.

Sounds like something Hedlund would build! I have had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Hedlund and staying at there lake home. Great Guy!!
