OT/loosing my mind part MMCMLXVIII

My mind is so far gone anymore,I'm tempted to stop posting anything here for fear of getting arrested or killed for saying something when I'm having one of those moments. Of all the boneheaded, braindead things to do: I took a loader cylinder to the repair shop this morning to get new seals put in it. They called right after lunch and said it was done. I went and picked it up. About ten after four, they called and said there was a problem. I hadn't SIGNED THE CHECK. I had to go all the way back,25 mile round trip, just to sign my name. I swear I'm about two days from needing a helper monkey to make sure I don't leave the house without any pants on.

The banks don't care whether the check is signed or not; the repair shop should have just deposited it. BTDT. Worst that would have happened is a call from the bank to verify that it was good. I suppose it could be different if you're dealing with Bank of America or J.P. Morgan or one-a-them..........

dont feel too bad, i went to heat up some leftovers in the microwave tonight. put the plate in the cupboard instead of the microwave and went to catch the news. dang microwave didnt beep and my plate was gone. no body was home but me. took me a while to figure out what i did wrong!!!!!

You're not the first to do that. I'm a treasurer for a small organization that takes in 8 to 10 checks per month - have had several without signatures.

The problem with getting old, IS getting old! What a royal pain these GOLDEN years are turning out to be!
From one end of my body to the other....if it don't hurt, it probably don't work to good. About a month ago I was working on my Oliver 1655 and needed my 9/16" wrench that I just had. Looked high and low for about a good :10 minutes...even got on all 4's and looked under the tractor. I had it in my left hand the whole time!

They just called again - you ENDORSED it instead of signing it.......They want you back, first thing in the morning....

I hate it when I lose my glasses & while looking for them, notice that I'M WEARING THEM!

you make me feel better thought i one of a kind now iknow im not alone...i even lost track of my P.U. in a parking lot...took the car that day

There are 3 things that is a sign you are getting OLD,The first one is you get forgetful, darn I can't remember what the other 2 are.

James and I have it pretty good. What he forgets I generally remember. What I forget, he generally remembers. Team work.

Don't feel too bad. I put a gal of milk in the pantry instead of the frig. Don't know how long it had been in there when James found it. I know I did it. James doesn't drink milk.

rrlund - Thanks for the advice on what I have to look forward to! I think I would have told the repair shop that the check was a security deposit and that you would sign it after trying the cylinder.

Be careful on what kind of monkey you get - I assume you heard of the lady's chimp friend who got jealous!

rrlund, I went through the drive thru at a McDonalds the other day, paid for my order and then drove away without my lunch. I didn't have to drive 25 miles but I was a little embarrassed when i went back to get it. Dave

Poured orangeade in my coffee the other morning. I only glanced for the translucent gallon container rather than what was in it.
I haven"t looked for my glasses when they"re on my face, but I sure have when they"ve been on the top of my head.

Well, the refrigerator sat in the same corner for 16 years. Bought as new one this fall and put it in a new corner.... I still walk to where it USED to be! As long as you are forgetful and it bugs you, you are okay. It's when you are forgetful and don't care...ya gotta beware!

I got out of my truck once and couldn't find my phone in my pocket where I always have it. Turns out it was by my ear while I was talking to my wife (then girlfriend)...

Donovan from Wisconsin

I use an electric razor and the other morning it took me better than 20 minutes to shave, I forgot to take the cover off. For years I never took a shower because I couldnt see, until the wife told me to take my glasses off. I was shaving one time and to the power went off and the shave stuck to my cheek. wow another day to struggle thru.

It turned out to be a blessing when my eyes got bad enough that I had to wear glasses full time- Its really great not to have to be looking for them all the time.

Glennster; what a laugh............I just pictured myself in your place waiting and waiting and waiting for the microwave to start beeping "the food is done " done, doen, done and then going to it in surprise not to fine the plate in it at all ? I'd start to think the ghosts are hungry. thanks for the laugh --- it helps ! JIM

Did something similar here. Left the fridge in the same place but re-hung the doors to swing from the opposite side.
When distracted, tired or impaired by alcohol. I still reach for and pull on what is now the hinge side.

Something that really rots your mind is being on dailysis for 8 years ,then again the anti rejection drugs after the transplant don't help a whole lot either .the wife asks me to do something and I forget before I even get turned around to go do it .some day I won't even be able to remember where I crapped last ,and I am not even 50 yet but real close .

Watch getting the chimp bacause the males when they attack usually try to rip off the $ex organs off other males first

I went to McDonalds the other day and went INSIDE to order. The girl behind the counter took my order then told me to drive up to the secound window!! I didn't catch it at first either, but then she did and her face got red as a Farmall.. LOL..

I thought I had lost my pliers a while back, looked hi and lo for them, couldn"t find them so I bought a new pair. Couple of days later I found them in a tool box where I left them!

Forget so darn much, can't even dare to get into it. Into what??? Used to write stuff in my hand. But would forget and wash it off. Dave
