removing paint from trailer wheels

How can I remove the old and flaking paint from a pair of trailer wheels. Sandblasting is best but when I put them in our cabinet blaster at work, the paint would not come off well. I believe the paint is actually a powder coating and is there an easier way to remove it rather than sandblasting for hours on an 8 inch rim.

Lots of guy like needel scalers- I'd give that a shot. Don't have one myself, but I'd think a harbor freight special would be a good enough buy for the occasional user.

Put a cutting torch to the paint and heat it up until the paint turnsblack it will blast off easy then. You don't want to or need to hold the torch in one place very long at all. Keep the torch moving.

There is a nother process called Electrolysis. Just by using a battery charger and Arm and hammer washing soda.
A google search will explain it better than I can.

A wire wheel will usually smear the surface of
powder coat. If you chip it away with a needle
scaler, then clean up with a wire wheel, you will
probably make the most progress. I have had excellent service from an inexpensive Northern
needle scaler for several years. Thick paint,
thick rust, or hard grease can be chipped off quickly with a needle scaler. Use ear protection.
