Do any of you guys use a JD 7810? My field cultivator is wore out, time to trade up. I have a IH 45 25ft. What size do you guys pull? I have clay type soils here. It will be used on some plowing but mostly disked bean ground that was planted into corn stalks so clearance is an issue. The 45 does not have much clearance.
Thanks,

Find yourself a 980 series or newer JD, about 22-24 ft. will be a good match. I would go with 22 ft. unless your 7810 has MFD. The more rows of shanks the better, but they also require more power.

The 7810 has front wheel drive. The dealers are trying to sell me a 30 foot. I have no trouble what so ever pulling this IH45, that is a 25 1/2 foot.

25ft will be a load in trash, where you will want to run deeper and faster to get the trash through. We sometimes pull a 22ft, 4 inches deep at 6mph. with 150hp.FWA, and at times it's all it wants.
