Anyone have experience with a Goldoni tractor?

I'm considering purchasing a greenhouse/vineyard tractor sometime in the next few years. Does anyone have any experience with a Goldoni 'Base 20' tractor? This is the same model that John Deere has rebadged as a model '20A'.

I like the concept of a compact 20hp articulated tractor, but am worried about the durability of the machine.

The Goldoni 20 series that Deere sells is different. It's been speced with hydraulic brakes, electrical upgrades, rops and many other improvements. It's comparing apples and oranges.

I guess I don't see the apples - oranges comparison. The spec sheets for both tractors are nearly identical.

They both have a 2 cylinder air cooled Lombardini engine that produces 20.1 Hp. They both have 9 speeds forward and 3 reverse. They both have an independent 540 pto. They both have a category 1-N 3pt hitch that will lift 1100 lbs. They both have 6.5/80-15" tires. The both have a center mounted folding ROPS. They also have the same width and wheelbase.

The Deere does seem to have a tighter turning radius, upgraded hydraulics, and probably a higher price tag for the green paint. But essentially they are the same tractor and will perform similar tasks with the same level of competence.

Have you worked with either of these machines? I'm curious about the handling, stability, engine reliability, etc.

Looks like Goldoni went with some of the Deere specs. Their earlier 20 series had mechanical brakes, transmission driven pto and a minimal lighting.
The engine is a Lombardini so parts can be found anywhere.
Planning on doing some vineyard work or lawn mowing?
Some of the Goldoni tractors offered factory front end loaders.
As for price? I would check at the dealer before assuming anything between Goldoni and Deere dealers.
It's certainly handy to find a Deere dealer anywhere.

The crops we grow are designed around farm markets. In an effort to get a higher dollars per acre we are looking into high-tunnels and berries. This little vineyard tractor would work well in this type of application.

Since I want a new tractor more than I really need one, I'd like to get a machine that is relatively unique and specialized.

We own a couple for large scale turf applications (airports, etc). I don't know the specifics on which model we have but I don't see many repair bills come across my desk.

Its kinda funny that you made the ATV comment. Do a search for Goldoni Transcar 25. They make a utility truck out of the model 20, complete with tri-lateral dump bed. It actually dumps to the left, right, and rear. Among the options is a choice of articulated or conventional steering. They also have several larger versions.

Now if only Deere would be interested in improving one of these as well...
