I have a to-35 that has been sitting for about 3 months due to a bad starter. I took the starter off for repair and pulled the tractor off to start it. Now the thing won"t go into reverse. All I get is a grinding noise. It shifts into all the forward gears good. Never had this problem before. What"s goin" on here? Anyone know?

Can you get it into reverse with the engine shut down? You might have to "jiggle" it a little but if it goes into reverse then the problem is the clutch. It might just want to "stick" once in a while from sitting so long. It's a good idea to tie or weight the clutch pedal down when it's in storage.

The TO-35 is notorious for getting the shift rails locked. Usually you can take off the oil filler cap and move the rails with a long screw driver to free it up.

Yea, it will go into reverse just fine when I shut it down. How would I get the clutch un-stuck. Again, It shifts fine in the forward gears when it is running, it's just reverse that I am having trouble with. What do you think?
