Inexpensive Flux Core Welder Modification

I have an inexpensive Flux Core Only wire welder. I'd like to convert it so that the trigger on the gun also controls the voltage to the wire abd not just wire feed. Had antone done this? If I remember correct the welder is a Cambell-Hausfield.

You'd need a secondary contactor to do it but it's not worth it. If I understand what you'd like to do, you'd like to have a cold wire when the trigger isn't pulled instead of a hot wire like you have. Time for an upgrade. Get a Lincoln, Miller, Esab or other name brand from a welding supply. It will be money well spent and you probably won't believe how much better a new machine will work. Dave

Find a Miller 130 used, it will have that feature and have the ability to use gas.No circuit boards to screw up in it.
