I asked this before but I forgot what you told me. What is the horsepower for a 172 cu. four cylinder ford industrial gas?

Figure 45-50hp, depending on who you ask.

The engine horsepower in a industrial location is rated at 62.6 hp at 2200 rpm. This would be measured at the flywheel.

In a tractor the rotation of the trans gears and PTO would take some of the power so the tractor is rated at 45 hp since this is measured at the PTO shaft.

Something looks a little hinkey with the diesel compression pressures. They both have the same compression ratio but the pressures are different.The gas engines have the same compression ratios and the same pressures. Did the 144D have a different cam than the 172D?

All 4 motors used the same cam (gas or diesel) and both of the diesel motors used the same crank.

The head is where the differance is.
