is there any pocket reference books that have serial number breakdowns and such for old tractors available? be kind of handy when you find an old tractor to id the year and model.
 
I copied this list and emailed it to my cell phone

For the Farmalls, there's Guy Fay's Data Book. In his credits he mentions similar books available for other makes, Deere in particular I believe, so they're out there. You might check MBI for Guy's book and any others they might have that would be of interest to you.
 
We are still in the process of moving across the state after retiring. Somewhere in my tractor stuff I have several small pocket size books that have the info you are looking for. One for each mfg. I found them on ebay a couple of years ago. I will look later today and see if I can put my hand on them and will give you a shout.
