Replacing PTO seals

I would appreciate some guidance regarding replacing gaskets/oil seals on my 1954 Super M. I don't want to break anything and would appreciate hearing about any special tips regarding this. I am replacing the gear lube in the transmission and need to replace all PTO seals before putting the new oil in. One of my questions is to how do you remove the oil seal around the PTO shaft? Also, am I correct to assume that the oil leaks around the PTO shaft and the housing bolted to the transmission case are from the transmission? I would appreciate any help with this. Thanks. Pat

drain tranny,.remove the 3 bolts around the pto shaft, might need to wedge screwdriver behind it to pop it loose,..drive out the old seal and install new one.replace gasket .it's pretty straight forward...takes about 15 minutes
