fuel burning space heaters

To whome it may concern,the company that makes those fuel porwered space heaters,ready-heater,master-heater,John Deere,has apparently gone into receivership.How do I know,tried to order a new fan motor for our 150 000 btu ready heater and was told as such.They have made one pile of heaters over the years,that's amazing.pd.
 
It means they are out of business and all their assetts have been turned over to the creditors for liquidation.

For the consumer... it means S.O.L.
 
If yu're talking about someting like a salamander, a lot of that stuff is off-the-shelf at Grainger's and McMaster-carr.
 
Are you talking about Desa? I thought they were "too big to fail"!

They make the Ready Heater. Just got parts from them a couple of weeks ago.

lol,thought that we were the only ones to call them a salamander,yup that's the ones.Alot are used around these parts to warm up potato storage facilaties.Abit of heat can keep them from freezing in extreme cold weather in wearhouses,also abit more heat just before hauling to processing can give them abit better color for bonus payments.Receivership does mean bankruptcy.
 
Yep, they closed up tight right here in Bowling Green Ky. They've had a big sale selling off all remaining heaters and generators this week. If your vent free gas heater takes a special thermocouple or anything like that, buy a bunch now. Same for specialized salamander parts.They had just (8-9 months) brought a bunch of jobs back from Mexico too. It'll hurt us here in Bowling Green.
 
I had a garage sale last year where I put out a
salamande to sale. Was funny most asked about it but had no idea what it was and what it was for.
After explaining to one guy at end of day. He bought it for $5.00. Did not want to store it back away again.
 
If you haven't noticed, DEERE sells the heaters, custom branded with the DEERE name.
