That is almost good as a nice hot cup of sasafrass tea! One of these days when the "arctic tundra" around here thaws out I might dig me some roots.
 
Hey Bob I love sasafrass tea also. How do you make yours? I cut the roots in half inch pieces and put in pot with water. Bring water to boil and let set about twenty minutes. I do this twice with the same roots. Let cool and drink. DH
 
When back home in Northern Indiana, I wash, then sliver up the root pieces like I was whittling the stick to nothing, seems to brew the tea strong (and uses less root) but only one time in the heat per shaving batch. I miss it, we don't have any Sasafrass in Central MN. JimN
