I need to get going and do chores. When I get that done I will work on putting a pto seal in the 3010 while it is sitting in the shop.

If that goes ok I will probably pull the 4020 diesel in the shop and do some work on it.
I have a couple of outside projects I am going to put off till later in the week when it gets good and warm.
Yesterday had to be the warmest morning we have had since before christmas. Was a nice day and hopefully is just a taste of what is to come.
Dont work to hard guys!

I get 1100 roosters this morning, so after they come I have to lower the rooster feeders and set up the hoppers. Then chase them up onto the slats so they find the waterers, and the hens!! If I had a nice heated shop I would start on one of many projects.

Gonna caponize any of those roosters? Never done any, 'though I've performed procedures giving the same results on thousands of calves. I do remember talking about it in Vo-Ag 50 years ago. First you lift the wing???

Yea,kinda. Shouldn't be sitting here. Chores are done. Gotta go get a different tire put on the spare for the stock trailer then sort off a load of steers and haul them to the stock yard.

I guess my grandfather, who died before I was born, used to caponize roosters, back in the '20's and 30's. He was not a farmer, and lived in town- but in those days, most everybody in town had a few chickens, and he was a big proponent of caponizing to get higher quality meat and faster growth. He apparently did many of them. Don't know if he charged anyone- maybe got a chicken now and then.

By golly Bill, how many tractors do you have out there? Seen quite a few green (JD) and red (IH) but was wondering if you had a "orphan" or two hiding out there? Just wonderin - saw the Oliver spreader a while back and was wondering what might be in the back shed that your not sharing.
Looks like we're getting closer to spring!
