Skid Steer Flat Face Couplings

Does anybody else have problems with flat face hydraulic couplings in the winter? Mine seem to get moisture in them and freeze. Then they are really tough to release when I want to switch from snowplow to bucket.

I know bobcat has a pressure release but I don't remember the sequence to release the pressure. If I remember right it's built into the onboard computer and it's done with the push buttons. Maybe contact your dealer.

Let us know what you find out.

The first thing I did with the flat face couplers on mine was remove them. Put on a set of ISO couplers that work with my gear.

I'd think that if you shut the engine off and rock the valve lever back and forth it might release the residual pressure in the lines. That might help. If not then I'd either dump some hot water over the couplers or heat them gently with a propane torch if they are actually frozen.
It's not often that I've seen couplers freeze, but I have seen it happen once or twice...

They are supposed to be more leak proof, easier
to keep clean.
Much hydraulic system failure can be related to
plugging in dirty quick connects--or borrowing
your neighbors equipment that has dirt and water
in the oil.
