I was rebuilding the throttle (governor control lever) on my M. After putting a little spot of weld on the lever to build up the "tooth". I then filed it down to fit in the notches. The spring is broken and I got several tips on this board on where to get a new spring, or make one from a bicycle spoke.
Anyway the shaft that the lever rotates on and the lever were worn. I was trying to think of something to make a bushing out of. I had been to a firing range a few days before and picked up some fired .40 S&W cases. Come to find out it was the exact right size. I cut the case head off, and slipped it over the shaft and it was almost a perfect fit. It is thicker near the head, so experiment to see how it fits better. It's brass, so it should make a pretty fair bushing, and it tightned the trottle lever up.
