I am doing my best to help the economy. I just bought a new Chevy Traverse. GM is offering deals that are hard to passup along with great quality. Six speed auto that is as smooth as silk.

Atta boy! You're truly a patriotic American, and I hope that sucker holds together until you get it paid off. As you probably know, that's not a "given" anymore.

What's a Chevy Traverse? And to think I used to be a "car guy". Shortly after the automakers appealed for welfare, Chrysler announced they were suspending production of 3 models- and I hadn't heard of any of them. I wonder if that might indicate part of the problem?

Now if you just bought it how do you know it has great quailty ? Give us an update in a year plus !

I knew when I posted that that their were a lot of jealous people out their. I have owned 4 GM cars in the last 7 years with not one problem. Its not a shtt box like most imports.

Quality? You saw that immediately? Tell us about quality after 100,000 mi.

That new car smell will make some people think like that.

Thanks for helping out GM. I bet they appreciate it. Makes more room on their lots for other quality stuff.

Head man Waggoner might be sending you a Thank You note...after he climbs out of their executive jet.

good for you jerry remember those other ones are brought to you by the same fine people that brought the US. Pearl Harbor .

Is that why Toyota is kicking the Big 3's a$$...making sh!t boxes to haul it all away in?

Do us a favor and tell what the sticker in the window said about USA content in your new Detroitmobile.

I haven't seen a Japo vehicle yet that the vinyl hasn't split on the dash or doors. What my dad went thru in WWII made me not want to own one the tin cans. I guess patriotism comes in all varieties.

I like to stick with GM products, bought one FORD once the first 30 days I owned it it was in the shop 27 Bought 2 Chrysler, one seemed to have been built when all the wrenches were locked up, not a tight bolt on it. The other was a Plymouth Volare not a bad car. Have owned several GM the worst was an S10 Blazer didn't cost me any thing to fix it but time.

Thanks, GM does make some great cars/trucks.

I have 2 new Chevy's---both 2007 models. That 100,000 mile warranty is nice too.
I like that Buick Lacrosse and Lucerne, but $24,000 is alot of money. If the MIL kicks the bucket in a few months then I would love to get the Buick or a Colorado PU.

I cant stomach buying a Jap car or truck cause they dont help my paycheck.

I rather help my own economie. that means i have never bought a new vehicle, and never intend too either. same with tractors and implements.

Mebby i should change my handle to "cheapskate".

When Ford is ready to GIVE me a new one ton dually to make the neighbors want one, that's when I'll have a new one.

Those who buy japanese cars dont remember pearl harbor very well. My mother almost ran a few nnalert down with the car when she saw them in front of her in a nearby city a year or two after ww2. It was just instinct but she did get control of herself before she made contact. She served in hawaii during the war in the navy.

Patriotism is a wonderful thing. However remember those japanese companies are building factories here and putting people to work and the Big # are moving more and more out of the country or having parts manufactured out of the country.

I know this because the company I work for used to run alot of automotive parts, they re now being run in China. Same for the great American Company Harley Davidson. WE used to run about 15 parts for the V-Rod when it came out. We run them long enough to get the bugs worked out of the dies and all the prototype stuff done. The jobs then got shipped to Indo China. I know for a fact because I crated the tooling and filled out the packing list.

At this same time Honda added 2 lines at Marysville, Ohio and hired 60 people. We had to let 3 go because of the job loss. So tell me again how the American companies are helping us???

Yeah one of my Favs Fred.

I picked a bad day to quit sniffing glue.

Sounds like a war zone outside with the trees snapping off from the weight of the ice. Running on Generator.

I had the same trouble with G.M. I bought a new Oldsmobile back in 2000, in the 23 months that we owned it it was in the shop 11 times for electrical issues. G.M. did make good on it, they bought it back under the "lemon Law" after they admitted they couldn't fix it. One condition though, I had to buy another new G.M. 0% interest, O.K. we buy a new Trailblazer, after taking it back for the fifth time in six months I traded it for a Ford Explorer. So far so good.

Still got my '73 Vette and Ram 4X4 Pickup. But wife has a hotrod Subaru WRX after the Mustang GT fell apart.

sure but all the proffit goes back to Japan so they can buy up more US assets. Might keep a few people here employed but all your really doing is killing your sons job down the line.

You watch... When the workers at these transplant factories. get into their 40's and start using more health care dollars. Those Japanees companies are going to move the factory. Kick all those 40 some things onto the unemployment rolls were you get to pay for their health ins then.

Then they will open a new factory 200 mi away and hire all new 20 some things and use that health care cost advantage to send even more of your money to Japan.

Now instead of your kids working a good job with good ins and bennefits. Your young uns get to slave as a assistant manager at some crap store. Working 70 hr weeks for $35000 a year salary and paying super high deductable ins. No pension and a 401k that they may add to if they feel like it.
Oh and thats not all, as soon as your young uns get 40 years old. The company will down size and dump all the 40 some things and 2 years latter be at the same number except with 20 year olds again to slave.

So you just go ahead and buy that Jap car.

And ,not forgetting, the American born Japanese were fighting for America in Europe.Looks are only skin deep.Spread a little credit around.

When you replace the next set of wiper blades, note where manufactured, don't be surprised if Indonesia [and your oil filter too.]

We must not loose sight of all the Companies who sacked the workers and moved to Mexico, less wages more profit and not a Japanese in sight, plus they now export to the USA which adds to the trade deficit. You have focused on one group whereas all the western world is doing it, pick your country.
