Somebody must've struck a nerve with the moderator(s). Funny that didn't happen in the threads about the CAT layoffs, or about Guantanamo.

Sorry to see anyone lose a job...but if we turn off our TV's, I've been told, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the economy.

My experience with DHL goes back to my days as a parts manager for a Hyundai dealer. For the most part, my dealings with them in a metro area were about average...can't complain much, but not anything outstanding either.

I'll tell the guys I know that have been laid off to turn off their TV sets and they'll be fine. Most silly thing I've heard in a long time. The Stock Market (shareholders) looses 14 Trillion value in one year, all the big banks going broke and all we need to do to cure it all is turn off the TV?

That's what I was told...right on this forum.

I think it works on the same principle that makes danger run away from ostriches when they bury their heads in the sand.

The economy won't get better if we bury our heads in the sand, and it won't get better by simply doing nothing. But then, I'm not of the proper political persuasion to voice an opinion on what oughta be done, because I think that even though I didn't vote for him, Mr. external_link is still the President of ALL of the United States.

And that apparently makes me an outcast.

I think ya got more company than ya think. Some people have a hard time accepting change. BTW, I saw a news shot of the nnalert senate leadership walking out to talk to reporters on the tube today. 4 old white guys, looked like a depends commercial.

Personally President external_link seems like a nice enough guy and be a good fellow to go to a ballgame with but he's way over his head now with this financial mess but to his defense so was Bush and McCain too most likely if he'd won.But external_link has never held a job or owned a business in the private sector where the real life economics are located.Gov't is making this mess bigger than it would have been if they'd of stayed out of it and let the downturn run its course. Its going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better, count on it.

I think if we don't get concerned enough to do something about the power hungry, greedy, idiots in Washington, we are all doomed. The problem that we have now was created because intelligent people have had their heads in the sand. Intelligent people have been working, taking care of their family and neighbors, and paying their mortgages. While the idiots have been gaining control. There are a lot of intelligent people not aware that the clowns that got us in this situation are still in control. Socialism got us here and more of it will not get us out.

You know damm well that isn't what you were told on this forum, you took what 2 guys said and have several times twisted it and restated it. The original post, if I remember right was started by rrlund, was about listening to people on the TV and Radio to much. All that was on the news at that point was drama about the election, and the comment was made that alot of the problem would go away if people quit being spoonfed by the media, ie turn off the TVs, and start thinking for themselves. And you know that but have several time regurgitated your version of the original post. Get over it because those of us with at least an average IQ know what the original poster intended when he said it.
