HAXco PTO or TRANSMISSION

I have what looks like a vintage PTO or Transmission still strapped in its factory crate brand new. Tag says HAXCO Part# 5301-A. Even has a small disk brake looking thing attached to it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

HAXCO = Holtan Axle and Transmission Co., Juneau, Wisconsin.

I THINK they are the outfit that made the "Hefty G".

Here is the only picture I have. Also was told it could be part of a Jacobson Truckster or PUG, very little info out there

I will look at my tractor and see but it looks to me like the PTO assembly. I will see sometime this week and post a reply. Are you interested in selling the part? I might have some interest if it has the same part number as the one on my hefty H model.

Rich,

I have one of these transmissions. It came installed in a Ramco Retriever Amphibious All Terrain Vehicle. Not sure of the age, but it must be late 60's to mid 70's.

The thing must be a real rock crusher as it has (based upon condition of AATV) been through hell and still seems to function perfectly.

I would like to have any and all information on it too so if you have anything to share, that would really be appreciated.

I am having a hard time getting the left side drive hub disconnected from the transmission left side output shaft. Removed all the set screws but it doesn't want to slide out. I think it should be easier than it is.
