It`s hard to belive we have people this stupid around us !! Second day of our gun deer season I went down to mom`s to feed and from the road noticed car tracks out in the hay field . When I got there the gate was open and I went out to see what was going on . There was tracks going in every direction and found deer hair and several parts to there plastic chevy grill , bow tie and all . I called the IDNR and to make a long story short they ran over the deer , put it in the back of there blazer and headed for home , in town . Just as they got in town the deer came to and started kicking around so they pulled in there back yard , drug it out of the car and shot it . The folks next door called the cops and to jail they went . They told on themselves , they had run down fences and shot several deer that night and had outstanding warrants so they are on the inside looking out this winter . Ya never know what kind of idiot your standing in line in front of !!

Yea...but the bad part is that they probably dont have a pot to pi$$ in or a window to throw it out of. Had something like that happen at the farm, idiots got jail, on my tax dollar and I was out there all Saturday and Sunday repairing fences...like I had nothing else to do but spend money and time on somone elses destruction.

Cops didnt care..call you insurance company they said. Yea at a $500 deductable. I had a few choice words for the cop.

A few years ago, I had boneheads going in a field road and back into the timber both to poach deer and swipe firewood. I parked a disc across the entry to the field road to block it.

The drove into our yard when we weren't home and shot out the mercury vapor yard light. I had some leads as to who they were, so I reported it to the County Sheriff and was met with overwhelming indifference.

You think that's bad, in Waupaca County 3 men, 22-24 yrs old, ran down and killed 5 deer just off the snowmobile trails on private property. There was a $14,000 bounty on their heads, plus that trail was shutdown till someone was arrested.

Sadly, I'm in the upper end of that age group and I have to live with idiots like that making a bad name for all of us that are in our early 20's.

It has been my experience that once someone gets a hunting license he loses all sense of right from wrong,He an go anywhere on anybody elses property and do anything he wants.

A little off the subject, but someone broke all the windows out of my farm shop. $700 later I have this nifty camera system. It will accomodate 4 cameras, but I only put two on it. Infrared, color cameras, motion sensitive. The system will store at least a week, maybe two. Works in total darkness also.

I am still learning all about how to program it, etc. But I intend to put a stop to this crap, or at least know who does it.

Oh also bought some nifty "fake" cameras, keeps em guessing.

Idiot, gives us a bad rep, but then again, theres a lot of PCB's in the Hudson river by Fort Edward, maybe that's it.

Just read in the newspaper the other day that down by Henderson, NE vandals started up a center pivot irrigaion system and let it run at full blast until it froze up and tipped over. Article guessed about $30k in damages but I bet it's probably more than that.

I thought that was a big thing 5-6 years ago and GE lost and they dredged the river, they used it as weed control in Glens Falls.

I think the story was from right here in Michigan the other night on the news. Somebody had killed several deer by running them down with snowmobiles. Waste of a good snowmobile.

krm;

Kind of a broad brush, don't you think? I know guys who hunt quail and don't even load their guns til the dogs go on point. Fine gentlemen. I know more ethical hunters than slobs. Poachers and their ilk should be jailed and fined heavily.

Couple places judges are giving hard labor/road gang/restitution for vandalism. Wisconsin has a work release allowed law for jailed inmates- some money earned can be claimed by victims. Maybe send the prisoners to out of state jail- as in Maricopa county ,Arizona so they can wear pink underwear. RN

No, G.E. in their infinite wisdom, broke up the Ft Edward Dam in the 70's, the PCB's were contained until that event, now they can be traced around the world according to someone I know in the Wadsworth Lab in Albany NY. They have been held accountable and liable for this environmental disaster and will commence dredging a huge length of the river bottom this year, a monumental task, to recover the PCB's in the layers of sediment. The PCB's are encapsulated at this stage, some argued to leave it as is. I don't understand the methodology or the effectiveness of what this remedial work will have, but can tell you the Town of Waterford, about 5-6 miles from here, still draws their drinking water for purification from the river, until that is resolved, hard to say when it will actually start. G.E. has done some great things, but is also a colossal polluter of our environment, this is one of their greatest accomplishments in this area. If you have ever fished the Hudson in a canoe, places where you can't get to with a boat, some great fishing, all ruined, back in the 60's, the turbidity and raw sewage in the river water was at an all time high, no tree hugger here either, industry and much of society used what was a great resource for toxic waste disposal, some of which will never go away, water is very clean now, but who knows what is in the sediment layers they will be disturbing.

I`m in S.E. Indiana and it happened in my hay field but I`m sure we dont have the market cornered on idiots !!

Well, first of all, don't put these kind of idiots in the same category with the many fine sportsmen and women who play by the rules.

We had an incident years ago, where someone had run thru several of our hayfields, as well as a neighbor's bean field. Did us both some damage. We found later that they had been chasing a deer, which later we found dead in one of our fields. Took a lot of digging to make a hole big enough to bury that deer. Dad and I did it with shovels - no backhoe here.

Unfortunately, that was over here in Wisconsin in Waupaca Co. I put a link ot one of the stories down a little farther in this thread. If you saw a picture of 2 of the brothers, you could tell they aint worth 2 shitss. One of them has a case pending ona hit & run killing a guy he had an arguement with in a bar.

I went on Wisconsin case search and looked all 3 of them up, and they all have a wrap sheet a mile long and building. Real peices of crap, all 3 of them.

Then in Fond du Lac, in Fond du Lac Co., there was a guy who hit & killed 57 mallard ducks while ice skipping. He turned himself in and claimed it to be an accident. DNR is testing the ducks for desease that would have rendered them unable to fly away, or to see what else could have been going on. This guy atleast seems to have 1/2 a brain...
