Hello,

Looking at getting a skid steer loader. Like the case with the cummins engine. Have run an oler 1845c and liked it. Looking at spending around 12,000. Has anyone had and 85xt. What are you opinions of it. how does it compare.

How well do the add on metal track work on these things. Would like to get a tracked machine but can't afford it at the time. Not sure how well the add on tracks work on the rubber tire loaders.

Thanks

85XT's are good machines. What situations do you need tracks ? Steel tracks are good when you need them, but they do not ride as smooth as the new rubber tracks.
Do not foam fill the tires if you plan on running steel tracks. It put extra stress on the drives and axles with the foam filled tires.

I"ve had a Gehl 4625SX for ten years, put steel tracks on a year ago for clearing some swampy ground. BIG increase in traction, fewer flats. Haven"t gotten stuck with it yet, even in wet peat ground. Has sunk in deep enough to push peat with the frame, but got through ok. Tough on a lawn though, even going straight. Helps to air up the tires after attaching tracks.

85XT is a good machine will be a little larger than the 1845c and has a vertical lift they are good machines the steel tracks make it an entirely different machine if you get the steel tracks get a good set and have some one show you how to put them on and off there are secrets to that I like the Loegering brand tracks can put a set on in about 15 minutes and back off in about the same time
