any 60km/hr tractros on the market?

Back in 2004. Deere was building export tractors with transmission high gear choices of 40 and 60km/hr.
All North American market tractors top out at 40km/24mph.
Today looking on the British and German sites. Top speeds are now only 40km/24.85mph or 50km/31.07mph.
The late for supper choice of 60km/37.28mph is apparently no longer available???
Anybody know what's up?
 
JCB Fastrac I think go around 50 mph ? or maybe more ? I see alot of them here in Ohio and our State was the first to come up with a law reguarding them because they were too fast for the SMV signs which were for 35 mph ? and under.
I think you just get a different type sticker and have to have a automobile driver licsense.
 
The European nations have speed limits on farm tractors. Even in the US, some tractors are pushing the legal definition of a slow-moving vehicle.

The issue of going faster is that is creates a whole new legal challenge for the machines to meet. Currently, tractors are exempt from most vehicle design rules (as compared to a commercial truck).

As tractors approach regular highway speeds, lawmakers will insist that tractors meet the same DOT inspection requirements. Any commercial trucker can tell you that is would be a whole new mess of regulations.
 
We leased a new AGCO DT 240A with the CVT transmission and top speed on it (here in IA) is 33.5 MPH. Our dealer stated that in Europe, particularly Germany, these same tractors could run 45 MPH legally. For US sales he said, these tractors had to have a override installed in the computer to keep road speed under 33.5 MPH. You can feel it too, going down the road, it wants to go faster, but you can feel it being held back.
 
JCB Fasttrac is capable of something like 70kph, early ones were capable of 80kph (i drove one in the early nineties)... Fendt have some of their big FWA that can do 60kph... I think some of the Masseys are also capable of 60kph? MInd they are have Fendt transmissions... In Europe tractor speed is limited not only by national laws (the UK for example limits tractor speed to 20mph, but i"ve never known anyone to be ticketed for exceeding the limit), but by European regulations that specify what equipment must be present to do certain speeds, for example to do more that 40kph you need front axle suspension and braking to all four wheels, to exceed 60kph you need all axles on suspension and i think air brakes (like a semi)... i think that is all correct, but i"ve not lived across the pond for 10 years now, and am a little out of touch with the regulations. Someone on here will put it right i"m sure.
 
we have an rt 150 agco and it does about 33 mph. the tech guy said they had to limit them because the d.o.t. doesn't want people running that fast without having regulations for implement and trailer brakes. when on a rough road this feels fast enough!
 
A few JCB Fastracs around. They do about 40 mph tops. A sight to see from a distance with two big wagons behind doing 40 mph.
 
I've driven a Deere 8530 with the CVT tranny and it feels the same way. At about 25 MPH the engine throttles back to around 1600. It kind of feels like it's reached the speed it wants to go so it's gonna settle back and enjoy the ride at a leisurely pace.

It'd be fun to trick the computer somehow to find out how fast she'll really go. Jim
 
Many many years ago Minneapolis Moline built a model MUDLX. It was model U with a cab windshied wipers, heater, etc and extra seating. It had a road gear that allowed it to travel at a high speed. The governments in Canada made them take the gear out, they maintained it wasn't safe at that speed, too short a wheel base.
 
The UDLX was ahead of its time but didn't sell in large numbers. I've never heard or read anything about taking out the road gear. Today a UDLX is one of the most desirable collector tractors. Restored ones go for over $100,000. Dave
