Australian eastern daylight saving time.

Last evening 13th Jan at 5.30pm [1730 hours] walked outside and it was HOT, go the thermo out,reading 116 degrees F [46C + smidgeon]at the back door. Today at 1.55pm [1355 hours] reads 110 degs F.[44C] in the shade.

update. thermo now in the sun and it's 124 degs F ,wait for the explosion because there are no more calibrations.
 
always extreams, i read that it was -40 below 0 in the dakotas last nite , i myself live in new mexico [ left of texas, not south] this is the climate here, the last few weeks i get up before daylite and go bust 1 inch of ice on all the stock tanks and then my noon i have the air conditioning on in the truck,
 
Well ya could hop a flight and come on up here and leave 112 degrees behind ya , starting to get a bit chilly up here and it is only going to get colder .
 
If you'll feed my wifes two plug horses, we'll trade you houses for a couple of weeks! Although not sure about the 100+ temps. 80 would be more my style. Got anything to shoot down there? You could thin out some of these deer around here.

Could be worse mate, you could be up north and floating down the river. Fairly mild in my part of Oz only 32degrees C today.

What are your winters like? It's been between 10 and 20 F in my little piece of Germany and it's killin me. Usually don't get but about the freezing mark. Supposed to get to about 35 in the day and 25 or so overnight starting tomorrow. Have some friends vacationing somewhere in Australia now and they are complaining about the temps.

7 F snowing wind chill -10. Cooler tomorrow in Northern ILLinois. 12 inches snow cover. About 38 inches of snow to date. Should pass last years 64 inches of snow. Global warming is on track some where else. '08 had all time rain fall record.
 
dave2..Better today, only 76F,[+-25C] Nature was just giving us a taste of what she? is capable of.So noboby is complaining, must all be contented with your little piece of heaven.Last winter the Min. was minus 2C with frosts but usually turns out a beautiful day after that.A little warmer than you,perhaps.
 
About what it does here, just rains a lot and is soupy. The upside of the freeze is, we can put the horses out and not have them ruin the ground (rented pastures).

Burnie.. It's not all bad up North, the waters are now flooding over the channel country towards Lake Eyre which means the Pelicans and other water birds will be breeding. Six years since water was there.
The cattle farmers are wearing big grins because when the waters subside the grass will be in abundance.Just another cycle I guess.
 
Bendee, Did the thermo explode? After the min being in the negatives here it is back up to zero, the ice is melting and there could be snow this week. Not good for the tractors but the tulips don't seem to mind.
