O/T Staying with Relatives for the Summer

Just wandering how many of you have seen the movie titled "Second Hand Lion". About a young boy who stays with his two unkown uncles for a short time during the summer.

If you haven't seen it, it's a must for any country folk. It's humorous and touching. We rent it about once a year and always enjoy it.

The best parts to me is when the salesmen come and try to sell their ware to the two uncles.

Has any one seen the movie if so what's your best part?
The two uncles are an envy for any man to be!

I bought the dvd and watch it a couple times a month. loan it out quite a bit too. A really great movie. My favorite is when Hub fights the teenagers.

Yes when Hub fought off the teenagers I really enjoyed that part then brings them home and puts steak on their bruises.

How about the part when they all go in the garden with guns, and the two boys are holding on to one gun??

Fantastic movie. Funniest part was when they realized that everything that they had planted in the garden came up corn. Most touching was when he got back home as an adult and the plane was still sticking out of the side of the barn. You didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

Did any of you that have the DVD watch the out-takes? There is one scene where the brothers are filling out postcards stating that they wanted these salesmen to come and demonstrate their wares. Thus the reason they had so many salesmen coming to their door. Another one showed that they had ran out of clay pigeons and had so much corn that they couldn"t give it away. They ended up using ears of corn as their targets. An exceptionally good movie that, like others have said, does not get old.

Another movie that I watch frequently is "The Education of Little Tree." It"s about a young boy that is part Native American who"s father was killed in WW I and mother passed away. He ends up living with his father"s parents in the back woods. The best line from that movie is when Little Tree purchases a sick calf from a "good Christian" man. When the calf dies, he is asked what lesson he had learned from this experience. His reply was: "I sure as heck don"t want to trade with any of those Christians!"

yep good movie i liked when arab sheik showed up and said something like grandfather was telling the truth

Ever get the chance look at a movie called The Straight Story. Think it is a disney film. About an old fella that rides a lawnmower to see his brother.

i like their soultion to the traveling salesman problem, ive been tempted to do that myself on a few types that insist on bugging me, but its frowned on these days by the law so i havent done that, my favorite was the scene with the napping cop and the biplane now that was funny

Great film- best part is Robert Duvall is in it. Something about his voice, and comedic timing, that just kills me. He was also great in Lonesome Dove. Trivia question: What was Robert Duvall's first movie role? He was Boo Radley in that great Gregory Peck film, To Kill a Mockingbird. The highlight of that film was the girl called "Scout".
