If you look up at the top you'll see the back side of the old P&O Plow Company Building in St. Louis. You can see P&O in the upper right side of the building. I hope to get a better picture of this building soon and post it.
The produce building in the picture is actually a seperate building which just happen to be in the picture also.

I took this picture in August of 2006 while with my dad as we picked up some produce at commission row in St. Louis.

This must have been a warehouse or distrubution or dealer for P&O.

I would love to go thru that old building. I hope to find out if I can do something like that.

I thought all of you interested would like seeing this picture as part of our agriculture history!

It stands for Parlin & Orendorff.Made plows and tillage tools at factory in Canton ,Illinois .They were taken over by International Harvester in 1919.
The factory still made IH discs and plows until the 1980"s.Factory stood empty till it burned in the 1990"s

Here is my machinery building story: About 30 years ago I needed some 2X12 stuff for a project. Following up on a newspaper ad for used material took me to an old Minneapolis-Moline plant, that was being torn down in Hopkins, MN. The plant had been built about 1910. The part that was most interesting to me was, that the logs from up north were floated down the St Croix River to Stillwater and then brought over to the new plant site, to be sawn into lumber to the exact dimensions the engineers called out in their non traditional cubic lumber specification.
