Cat C10 engine in KW T800

Serious blow by in C10 engine has developed. It smokes more out the blow by tube than the exhaust. Has anyone overhauled a C10 with success or should we just look to swap it out with another type engine? Other than this the rest of KW tractor is in good shape.

No, I've never overhauled one.
I'd imagine like most things Cat that you're probably looking at 10-15 grand to do it right tho...
I don't see why you couldn't or wouldn't rebuild it if the rest of the truck was really worth keeping.
On the other hand, a guy can get a lot of decent used trucks out there today for 10 grand. If you got one the same as you have then you've got a handy parts department.
You could also sell it as a glider, or get another engine yourself and stick that in it...

You can probably get parts at Truck Pro or someplace for it but it still would probably cost 5000 dollars.If you are in the Midwest there might be a junkyard that has one with low miles you can swap in there for 5000.That would be quicker,or you could put a 3406,or something else in its place maybe.
