LA Case pulling tractor

Just bought a stock LA Case. I want to use it for pulling this summer. What are a few tricks for some additional engine power?

It only costs money.Most anything is possible.I would get my drawbar set per club rules and go from there.See how she pulls then see what youre lacking.Tires and weight are the first two things to look at.The LA is a good puller,bet she surprises you the way the engine is now. Hoss

Thanks Hoss, i got my drawbar set, and my rubber worked out ( 18.4 x 34's) i am more curious as to how much guys are cutting off cylinder heads to raise compression, and is there an after market cam with more lift available

Changing the rocker arm ratio is way cheaper than a special grind cam for a low production (as opposed to SBChevy). Lots of things a budget puller can do without wrecking the integrity of a tractor; Port and polish heads, port match the manifold and head, polish manifold runners, LP head and pistons or high altitude pistons. Basic blueprinting the engine. Everyone knows/uses the same tricks, so most times it is how well the tractor matches the track conditions and how well the operator knows his tractor.
