Maybe we can get Kim or who ever to start a new forum. They can call it the B.S. Forum for most everything and leave tractor talk for tractor talk.

Had one. It was called Politics and OT. It was taken down January 1st 2008. Got so out of hand that if you googled certain s*x acts,it would take you there.

She did a while back, and I forget what it was called, but yes it did get out of control. And I do have to admit and apologize that I too got out of control there at times. I'm glad its gone, personally. I don't miss it, I don't miss it a bit. I try not to get caught up in those kinds of debates here, try to ignore them, but the other day even I got caught up in one when it'd have just been best to walk away. I apologize to Kim and everyone here for not.

Someone said here sometime back that its not nice to go into someone else's house and intentionally track mud around. They are and were correct.

If at anytime someone, anyone thinks that its a good idea to whack me one with a 2x4 when I need it, no matter the topic, feel free, I probably deserve it for not doing it myself from time to time.

She had one and it got so out of hand that she shut it down. A fella that hung around there set up his own OT forum. A lot of folks migrated with him, but a few chose have chosen to handg around here. Hard to figure, except that maybe they think it isn't a "brand-specific" tractor board that anything goes. Hard to follow that kind of logic, but I don't know how else to explain it.

Myself, I don't mind general mechanical questions, not tractor-related, showing up here. There are better places for the occasional "Where can I find an original cue-ball shift knob for my '66 GTO?" but it's a pain in the neck having to wade through/past/around the political stuff, which is clearly out of place.

Just an observation, but it seems to me that a good many of those who routinely start political threads on here wouldn't last a day on a REAL political forum. They're here simply by default. Not enough real opposition to send them away, and not enough bite, just a lot of bark in their diatribe.

Put it up for a vote and you'd probably find 90% of those who frequent this site would just as soon NEVER see another political thread again. Unfortunately, just like life itself that other 10% makes 90% of the news.

The ball is Kim's and it's in her court.

I like it the way it is now--a wide range of
interesting subjects, and interesting, thought
provoking answers. O/T is fun, provided politics,
and religion, are left out.
In the past few months i've enjoyed reading
about, and answers on : Woodpeckers, Gas Thieves,
Rats, Mice, Coons, 3 Phase, Halloween Pranks,
Value of manures, Price of heating oil, Ferretgas,
and last, but not least--LANSE !!!

I like to read the O/T post. It would get mighty boring if all that was talked about on here was tractor stuff. There is a lot to be learned about other subjects and i enjoy reading those post.

I like the diversity of posts. I frequent the IH site (IH owner). I like to read the Tractor Talk forum for "everything else". If it is marked O/T, I know it is "off-topic" I choose to read the O/T's. If you are not interested in O/T posts, do not read them.
