Burning pictures again

Still trying to figure it out. Wondering if I have the right CD? I have Maxwell CD-R pro 80min/700mb. The kid at Walmart said these would work for pictures. Is he right or do I need DVD recordable discs? Dug out my vista for dummies book and it has more about audio and movies than just pictures. Yes, the (stick) would be the best way to go, but I just want a couple of CD's of pictures to send to a friend. I can't afford to send $20 stick to everyone who wants some pictures, so a CD seems the way to go. Chris

It is a simple procedure and you have the correct CD's Depending on whether you are using windows xp or vista it might be slightly different Select the photos select copy to and the location of the cd or if you have the option select burn to cd I load all my photos to pc and then either print individual ones or copy to cd to keep for the future

CD-R will work; when I start to burn pictures to CDs, I get a propmt saying something like "need to make compatible"; if I don"t do that, my computer will show the CD pics, but they may or may not be visible on other computers. My system is XP...........

If the photo is saved on your hard drive, if you right click on the photo you want, a drop down menu should appear with an option "Send To". Select the CD icon. Pull up the CD and the photo should be at the top of the contents with an option to the left that says "Burn to CD". Left click on that and it should go.

For multiple photos, left click on the first photo you want to burn, hold down the "Shift" key while you left click on the last, and all in between should select.

Anyhoo, that's the way it works for me on my XP. I do it all the time with all the photos I take on the job.

Could be your burner is bad, wife had one installed in our computor, would not work, had it moved to newer computor still no work.

a) Can you open the CD and view the pictures on it from the PC you burned the CD?

b) Can you open the CD and view the pictures on other PCs?

If a is true and b is false, then you haven't fixed / closed the CD.

If a is false, then your burner isn't burning. Might be as simple as using a can of air to blow dust off it, might be FUBAR'd.

I tried putting the CD's in my computer and the pictures are on the CD's. I'll take them to work tomorrow and have a guy I work with take them hone and see if they show up on his computer, if they do, I should be good to go. Thanks for all the help. Chris
