motor burn oil IH 674

i have 674 ih, 239 diessel, the tractor has alot power, more powerful then a 684 and 544 we own,fuel pump has been turn up,on the tractor. 674 start good and run good with a little blowby but it just burn alot oil, like 1 quart oil for ever 2 hour motor run s any idea ? thanks

Hi Michael 674, It sounds like you have a ring (s) problem letting the oil bypass .... Maybe the clinders are washed out with the fuel pump being turned up like you said ....
I am not a expert , but that is what it sounds like to me ... Larry

so over fueling the tractor will cause the engnie to burn oil ?

Hello michael1674.
If the fuel is not completely burn, it will go into the cranckase and delute the engine oil.
You will then see a drop in oil pressure as well. Also oil level will also increase in a severy condition.
More information is needed for a better diagnosys of you oil problem.The color of the exhaust smoke would help, the more info the better.
