OT: Deer Story

Here's a picture of a 30 point buck shot by an Amish boy in WI with a long bow. A friend of the boy's family is poised with the deer. Hal
PS: I have the email and if anyone wants a copy I can send it.

Good morning. What a rack!!
The only bigger set I have seen is from a place called Verns In Ft. Collins Colorado. It was a bizarre rack with uneven count and more than 50 points. It burned in a fire that destroyed the place (since rebuilt). It was not "constructed" and weighed more than 50 pounds. Thanks for the image. (This year's deer was a button buck that field dressed to about 100) Jim

That is an awesome deer, but..

It is the schumacker buck shot in Ohio in 06??
An amish man shot it with a crossbow. Neat story if you google it.

I think this is the deer you`re talking about, though it doesn`t say anything about a long bow
Dalton, WI buck

Many years ago I left one like that go. He was within 30 yards but I thought it over & didn't shoot. He was all grey in color and I knew he would not be good to eat. The rack made the deer look small.

Brokenwrench, I think the buck that Hal posted is different if you look close. The one in 06 has a drop tine on the right where the one hal posted doesn't. I may be mistaken but look close.I have a mule deer that is a nontypical that has 12 on one side and 13 on the other. Scored 227 and 7/8th B/C

You guys from the east count funny out west we only count one side and not the eye guards.

Walt

I think those two are different deer one has legs the other doesn't and the racks are very different.
