Anyone have asbuilt drawings for splitting stands with a materials list? Would like to attempt to put a set together and split a 53 Super M. Thank you.

get an IH frame rail from a salvage yard to make the piece that bolts to the frame then make some adjustable legs with rollers, support the back half with something and have at it

pete. i see if i can get some pic of mine tomorrow. couples pices of channel or flat iiron some squire tubing . two wheels and some large all thread and you be set to go not a big project might take half day to build them. and i bet you have all the steel you need in your scrap pile. i have two sets both build about the same

we used to borrow one from a guy he took 2 wagon jacks with the wheel on them and some c chanel welded into like a u shape welded the jacks to that then you could crank either side up or down worked pretty slick

Google Cofer Mfg in Kansas. Also try a pair of 'Bulldog' jacks bolted to the frame with a stiffener between them.

can make brackets to mount a trailer jack on each side of the engine. Mount jacks toward rear of engine. Make up a small trailer using casters with braces to go under transmission. The braces angle up and are bolted to rear end. A bottle jack is set on trailer to support rear of tractor. One person can work the rear section back by pushing on each tire.

When I spilt a 856 IH to do a clutch for a guy I built a set of stand from some heavy angle iron. Drill 2 holes to match hole in the frame. Welded a flat plate on the end to weld a nut to for some all thread to go through for height adjustment. I ground the ends of the all thread to a rounded point to match a couple of scrap piece of aluminum I spot face drilled for the all thread to set in. I was working on a dirt floor. Used the angle iron on the rear of the tractor. Put down a piece of plywood for the floor jack. Unbolted the front of the tractor, roll it away with the floor jack and repaired the clutch.

this set use two up rights whitch are 3 inch channel 26 inches tall that has hole to bolt to tractor fame. some time if only one bolt well line up i have spot welded them to the fame. squire tubing is used in between the to uprights one side is 3 inch the other side that slides into it is 2 and a half inch. the all thred on the top set is 1-1/4 inch. i used 2 nuts stacked, in the squire tubing to add suport. the wheel are steel 3inch wheel on the bottom set there 4 inch hard rubber. the bottom set ues a 2 inch all thred and a bigger squire tubing and up right are flat steel when there slide together and tight on the tractor fame i lock the squire tubing together with a 5/8 bolt/ the all thred alowes for hight adjustment and line up. if i am moving the back of the tractor i ues a large floor jack. the steel on the back wall are different fames for different tractors. i have split no telling how many tractors from small to 86 sires ih and and large jd also the big allis. as a matter of fact thay were copied off the factory allis stand dealers had to buy.
