Straight pipe 560?

i currently own a farmall 560 gas i would like to add a chrome straight pipe for looks.... will this affect how tractor run? Also looking for suspension for under seat.... any ideas where i could find one???
 
Well it wont affect the running ,will be hard on the ears though. You could just mount an air seat from an old semi if you want suspension with a small air tank. Then just add air as needed if plumbed tight it should hold for weeks unless you use one with the leveling valve in it. Then you will need to add an air compressor for maintaining air pressure.

My dad had a 560 diesel he bought new in 1964. I was 4 years old and still remember the men delivering it and setting up the 4-16 plow he got with it. He had a lot of 2 point equipment to go with it such as the cultivator, rotary hoe, plow. It was his biggest tractor and a good one. They had head gasket trouble though. If you get the head and block machined they had less head gasket trouble.

Take your time and find one that is chromed on the inside also. The slick surface will reduce friction and allow the exhaust to escape easier allowing for an additional 20-25 horsepower gain
 
Doing so will not hurt it any but the HP gain is a myth and if you gain any HP it is so small that you will not even know you gained any. Most mufflers on tractors and open pipe like glass packs they just muffle the noise some but have little or no back pressure so you get no gain in HP

If you manage to find Stainless, it will be almost as shiny if you polish it, plus it will never rust. Someone makes a stainless muffler for the Farmall H and I've seen them for MM's too. Maybe others?
 
I can't believe what I read below on some of the comments.

The original mufflers were just straight thru with an expansion chamber and no restrictions.

You have a gas engine so get a pipe that is long enough to get the noise away from you.
