Snow moving essential looking better.

Was able to get the 544D started today(was +32 deg), preheater isn't getting hot at all, gonna replace with a hotter circulating one now that I was able to get her in the heated shop area. Also need to see where I am sucking air in the hydraulics, think some one had mentioned something about hoses under the seat inside some where. That new to me (bargain) Lorenz blower I bought for the 1750D still doesn't throw the snow, BUT, comparing it to my JD, I think I am missing a access cover that is supposed to seal up the tractor side of the fan (or impeller), because there is a open circle about 60% of the size of the fan, my JD is sealed up. Maybe this (possible) missing cover is allowing to much air into the fan from the wrong side. Made a makeshift "panel" out of plywood to do a trial and see if it works. I will post pics of the issue at hand tomorrow and see what you all thing.

Maybe check the fill cap for the hyd. resivoir, the 644c we have at work has a radiator style cap for that pressurized hyd. system. Just a thought. chris

I bet sealing that access hole up will make a big difference. The blower fan kinda acts like a furnace squirrel cage fan in the way it creates a vacuum. Having both sides open makes it easier to suck in air from the tractor side instead of heavier snow. Its 40 deg here now at 10 PM. Its melting just enough to make the yards and roads a sheet of ice, just what we need.

I'm with Scott. My money is on the idea that you will find it to be a whole different machine with the hole closed up. Lorenz has always had a good reputation for blowers.
