John Deere 630 All-Fuel compression

ref. C.H. Wendel, Nebraska Tractor Tests, shows 620 propane as 8.1 to 1 compression ratio, gasoline not listed, all-fuel as 4.78 to 1 compression ratio. I beleive the 630 was not tested as they used the same engine as the 620's. I haven't checked the Nebraska tractor test lab web site but have been told many of the test results are available on line in there complete form. hope this info is of some value to you

Where did you find the C.H.Wendel Nebraska Tractor test book? I've looked high and low for years without success.
The Lorry Dunning book here says gassers are 6.38 to 1 with 46.75HP and all fuel 4.78 to 1 with 34.57HP.
LP 620 has 8.1 to 1 compression and 49.19HP. That extra compression certainly assists extracting the energy from combustion chamber pressure.

There are two Nebraska Tractor Tests Books on ebay right now.

Item #170283962737
buy it now cost is $203.94
New when they were in print was $50

I sold many of them when I was selling books but so many went out of print and prices skyrocketed and people weren't buying any more so I decided to get out of it and sell the remainder of my stock on ebay.
