Kubota Generator

Here a Kubota generator I found sitting out on the street for pickup along with a lot of other items. It didn't have any compression and the gas tank needed cleaning. I pulled the head and found the exhaust valve stuck open. With some light tapping and lots of engine oil it freed up.
After installing the head and cleaning the gas tank it ran on the second pull. It only turns 1800 rpm's, so it isn't too noisy. Hal

1800 rpm is the way to go I believe. Better quality item and it is not trying to tear itself apart as much as the other going twice as fast. It is hard to find a 1800 rpm model out there, but I guess there are laying by the curb waiting for the rag man to pick them up sometimes.

I've found several Toro self-propelled lawn mowers too when people move out claiming they were hard to start. One of the owners claimed they didn't even have a choke. I said they have something better than a choke. I said they use a primer that squirts that fuel directly into the engine. Even got an extra blade said he didn't know how to sharpen it.

One family left a street full of stuff. They left
a Lady Kenmore washer with a note said it still worked. I gave it to a man that pick's up my trash. It worked fine since I hooked a hose to it and power and it worked, but it did need a good cleaning. Hal

I use to work on push mowers. One time on my way to work one sat in a yard with a sign on it, Free Take it Away. I got it then thought about putting the sign on the car in front of the house where I got the lawn mower. That would of been awnry if I did do that but those of use riding to work together that day got a laugh out of the thought.
