Things to consider when setting rear wheel width?

Farmall 706 with axles sticking out on both sides! Don't have duals.
Doing hay but might get in to some corn too.
I guess corn row spacing would be the most important thing to consider?
If not, set them out wide for stability?
Should the front be the same as the rear?

If you ever haul it on a trailer don't have the rear wheels to wide for the trailer. I set mine wide on the rear to facilitate a front end loader (jd 70 with #45 loader) and now it just barely fits on my trailer

On my 806 the axles stick out about 4 inches. They are not a problem in corn on 30 inch rows. I guess if they suck out a foot then might be an issue. If it has a wide front the front wheels want to be set about the center or a little bit narrower than that if out even with the rears outside you will have trouble getting up to things.

My Allis's all have power shift rear wheels and that works slick and easy. Five minutes and they are moved. The wide fronts are set for plowing with the Roll Shift and is also easy to set but are still narrow enough to drive onto the trailer that I don't mess with them much.
