I have a dilema. I have acquired an older case tractor and would love to help restore it. But, I"m unsure of the year. I was told it was either 1952,53 or 54. I have searched for a serial number on it but can"t find it. I have looked at pics of and thought it might be a 1948. Yes, I"m a little new to this but I love old tractors. That"s where I learned to drive - in the middle of the hay field where my dad said I couldn"t hurt anything. (there"s another story there too.) Anyone who can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!!

If there is no serial number plate on the dashboard, then look on the driver"s left side on the engine. Right along the edge of the flange where it bolts to the transmission, the serial number should be stamped there. More than likely, it is a 7 digit number. Take the first two digits, and subtract 4. That will tell you the year.

a model series would help I think in those years it would be a letter or 2 most common I have seen is the SC and DC but not sure if they are the most common or just popular in my area. The Serial Number is located stamped on a name plate fastened to the instrument panel for most Case tractors. Can also be on toolbox.

Thank you so much. I guess I need all the help I can get. I have time off of work over Christmas and well, looking forward to getting my hands dirty.

We couldn't find a plate on the dashboard even after using degreaser. Hoping to find it stamped into the tractor. Thanks for your help. Everyone should have a winter project.
