Looking for antique road grader maintainer

My great grandfather had a patent on a horse-drawn "best yet" roadgrader/maintainer in Missouri from approx. 1905-1917. He sold several in (Humansville) MO and some in KS. My family is looking for this implement for my ill father a gift. He has dreamed of finding one for many years. I have photos of the prototype along with the actual implement if anyone is interested in helping me locate one. Thanks.

3 places that may be of some help, sounds obscure, there does seem to be a fair amount of those type of pull behind maintainers like or similar to what Adams and other manufacturers were building then, still around, yours sounds more obscure, but maybe someone else knows about this particular one.

Some of the people in each of the organizations listed might be able to help, those photos will certaily help, some of those people collect old literature on things like these, might check into some of the museums or collections like the Heidrich collection on the west coast, all good places to ask.

Leesa, that's a great idea.

More than a few old graders around, still in service if no longer horse-drawn. I don't remember seeing many names on them when I was shopping for one.

If you'd post a photo, you'd have a better shot of finding one. Pretty sure mine isn't a "best yet", but it works extremely well. Good luck.

to add to billy ny's idea, if you haven't already, i would inquire of local Missouri antique construction or tractor clubs. also there might be a state association of town highway superintendents or such.

I have one similar to your picture, but with original steel wheels. I'll try to get a picture in the next few days. Ben
