I need to get something for my boss for x mass something under $50 perferably hes a dairy farmer and he loves JD need ideas kinda ran out last year but limped through need some help
 
Last year for Christmas my wife got me a LED head light. I have used it as much or more than any present I've ever gotten and it works great for farm work in the winter when the days are so short.
 
go to John Deere stores or TSC for example and get him a antiuqe john Deere tractor different models under $50. right now, everybody likes those.
 
A bit more tha n $50. $59.95 to be exact. Lowes has a clearance on Black & Decker 24 volt cordless dill/cordless saw/ stud finder and a 1 hour quick charger combination.I bought three of them. If you ever use a 24 volt tool, you won't want to go back to an 18 or less volt. I have had a 24 volt B&D drill for 3 years now and it is a great tool.
 
Probably not the same thing you are talking about, but last fall I bought one of those Stanley combination razorknife/jacknife things. Looks like a standard razor knife but has a 4" blade in it too. Comes with a belt holster that has a razor blade dispenser. I don't know how I ever got by without it before.

I also second the led headlamp thing. I got one for a gift a couple of years ago and have used it a lot.
