Kerosene Prices

Just wondering what you guys are paying for kerosene.

We're at $3.99 a gallon and hasn't changed for about 2 months. I buy in Rhode Island at a large truck/car fuel station.

Seems it should have dropped a bit more by now. Wishful thinking.....I know.

I paid $3.19 a gallon on Sunday. You are right...prices on K1 haven"t gone down much relative to gas prices. I suspect it"s because Big Oil knows that K1 is needed by many for heat. I was always under the impression that Diesel and K1 require less refining than gas and if that is the case, i bet oil companies are using diesel, k1 and home heating as their cash cows.

I wish we had your prices in northern Illinois. It is an even $6.00 per gallon. It has been that price for over a year.

I bought a kerosene heater a few weeks ago for backup heat. Paid 3.79 at one place got more later at a different place and paid 3.99. It has not followed the price of gasoline

Refining? Remember the Ultra low sulfur rules are in affect for road use and some area heating in EPA dirty alert areas. K1 and JP1 jet fuel about same, lighter low vapor pressure jet fuel used in winter so slight shift in demand. Kerosene cost is main fuel gripe among Amish- need more lamp oil in winter. RN

Average price is 2.77 in central Maine.I paid 3.50 a gallon last January.Kero went over 5.00 for a while.I keep some on hand for lamps and to feed the furnace if it runs out.Oil tanks out side need a 50/50 blend or straight kerosene to avoid gelling.Mobile homes need kerosene.Diesel trucks in northen New England need a bit of kerosene to keep running, illegal but it has to be done.Suits are too stupid to understand this basic fact.Big truck traffic is down on my road.

$2.87 from the pump at Fleet Farm in Wisconsin.. They post it below the gas prices right on the sign. Must sell a lot of it. Wonder why the nossle is chained only six inchs to the pump?

I've been paying $3.50 a gallon, but another station a couple of miles from where I buy wants four bucks. It was running fifty cents to a dollar higher last winter.

Kerosene is a pretty low-volume product around here and there are very few stations that carry it. I figure the local suppliers bought their supply a couple of months ago when prices were high.

Here in north central Texas, I bought some last week from my propane company, from their metered bulk tank into my containers: 4.75 gallon.

I went to an Amish store in Milroy, IN looking for lamp oil. They didn't have any, suggested I try TSC. They all have gas lights, just like a lot of them have gas refrigerators.
