Welding leads.....

Well...Santa came yesterday....kinda...
Bought the new lincoln 225 generator welder I have been looking at. I have leads I can use off of my electric lincoln Dial-a-arc, but need to get some longer ones....
Anyone know of a good place to buy leads at???
Looking at 1/0 gauge, would like to have (eventually) about 200' of lead. We work on grain legs, bins, ect. and would like to be able to get where ever i want....

If you are going 200 ft. you might want to get a size larger just in case you need it. Just don't over kill. Your local welding supply should have good charts to let you know what is best.

Hello- I need some leads too, I only need 50 ft, my welding store only sells # 2 they say thats all anybody around here needs. I wonder if 2's are big enough ? mike
ps-I'm going to be using a miller 200 LE welder.

Are you talking about 200 feet total or 2 200 foot cables? 1/0 should be fine unless your burning lots of big (5/32" and up) rods. See if you have a Red-D-Arc near you. They are a huge welder rental and sales shop. They usually sell used cable. Not really any different than new. Watch out for aluminum cable and another thing to check is how flexible the cable is. Good welding cable is a lot more flexible. You also might want to put quick connectors on so you don't always have to use 200 feet. The last 10 to 15 feet on the stinger is nice to have a #1 cable for greatest flexibility. Dave
