my 1st diesel truck has bad glow plugs what brand is best, any tips on getting then out its a ford 6.9 engine thank cdv

One of the best on the market are made by Beru in Germany. If you go to your Ford dealer, that's what you're going to get anyway - just in a Motorcraft box. Lasts one I bought, they were just as cheap at the Ford dealer as anywhere else.

1987 6.9 and 84-94 7.3 diesels use:

Beru ZD9, Delphi HDS307, Champion CH84, Lucas/Delphi DS092A, WAP 84

Specs:
V1 = 12 V2 = 5 A = 7.4 T3 = <50@ 5V T4 = <50@ 5V , 10mm X 1.00

V1 = vehicle system voltage.
V2 = voltage marked on glow plug.
A = current at working temp.
V3 = preheat voltage (system)
T3 = time to C degrees working temp at V3 (seconds)
V4 = voltage for testing separately
T4 = time to working temp at V4 (seconds).

Before trying to remove glo-plugs, soak around threads with good penetrant with engine a little warm. when plug breaks loose, work back & forth to free tube in head. more spray lube if necessary.

JD knows what he's talking about. I had the number of the ones I put in mine in the pocket of my bibs,but I think I finally tossed it. I can tell you from years of experience though,make sure you change them ALL. Somehow the sensor detects a change in the amperage draw or something if even one is a little different. I struggled with mine for YEARS just changing the ones that were bad every year. Finally changed the whole set at one time a year ago and it was like getting a new truck.
