O/T Truck heater blower won't stop

I have auto temperature control in my 03 Chevy 1500 pickup. I was very cold this morning and had worked fine all weekend. Got to work this morning and shut off the truck and heater blower still going full blast with the ignition switch off. Had to pull the fuse to stop and not kill the battery. Anyone heard of this before???

Not on Chevy truck, but my 1993 Cadillac did the same thing. A module that was inside the air duct under the hood had gone out.

That does not seem to be an uncommon problem on GM vehicles. Heater control module or blower motor resistor is the culprit in many of feedback replies.

Before I dropped a few hundred to fix that I would have to think about a $2.00 toggle switch , can you still control the speeds.
