MaxBrake trailer brake

Does anybody have any firsthand experience with a MaxBrake trailer brake? I went to their website. I know it doesn't help that I have dialup, but I couldn't find a price or an application chart to tell me whether or not it would work on my old truck. (85 Ford) They look like a great setup. I'm tired of either stopping the trailer with just the truck brakes or sliding the trailer tires. Thanks

What kind of brakes are on it now?I think you would be way in to deep in time and money, better off to buy a different trailer.Changing brake systems using it on public roads.Someone else will own the farm if a accident happens.
I pulled a complete piggy back brake system off a trailer I was going to scrap out when scrap was 270 a ton.Going to put that setup on a identical trailer that does not have the 2 chamber stop masters.Mark

The maxibrakes that I use on semi trailors are dual chambers air operatered and one chamber has a BIG spring in it to stop the trailor if you lose air pressure( air pressure is what holds the brake in the off position) or allows the brake as a parking brake(takes air pressure to realse it). The other brake is air operated to stop the trailor. Speical valve attatched to air tank close to axels actavates the brake chamber that you need. You will find these maxibrakes/parking brakes on both trucks and trailors. Engine mounted air compressor supplies from 90 to 125 psi. to operate the brakes. Armand
