Tractor prices feeling the hurt?

Do any of you guys out there think that tractor prices are coming down along with the way the economy is struggling? Seems to me that it's slowly turning back to a buyer's market after the past few years of sellers being able to set a price and pretty much get it.Lots of "optimistic" prices being set on tractors.Sellers may have to be more flexible or realistic in their goals.I think this coming year, you may be finding a lot of deals out there.Interested in hearing opinions.

I agree,I see them 500 to 1000 cheaper and hanging around longer on top of it.I see common collector tractors on ebay relisted 3 times. But the rare ones still seem to bring good money.

Here in Western,Pa.not much is selling ,even at low prices. My neighbor has an SMTA that he painted up real nice and he won't budge off of $8500. I haven't found any real buys yet,but I keep looking.Kind of hard to buy if you can't sell one once in a while.I striped an SC Case and an AC WD down today. The load weighed 5700 and it brought $275. I really haven't seen much decrease in pices on this board though. Prices should start going down soon though. Lots of people losing their jobs in our area.

Here in southeast ohio I dont know how well equipment is moving. I have a skidsteer for sale reasonable and have had no interest. Used pickups here are high and equipment dealers prices are as high as they've ever been. 20 to 30 year old 40 horse non john deere tractors are 7500-10000, which seems plenty high to me. 2150-2750 john deere 10000-15000. It seems to me they're as high as they've ever been, but they may not be moving them at that price either. An asking price and a selling price are two different things.

Only thing I know of going cheap round here this fall is a gas 4020, would start and pull it's self went for 2500 last weekend at auction. Wouldn't have brought that but a father and son were on each side of it and did not know they were bidding against each other. It they'd been standing where they could see it woulda brought about $1800.

Newer over 100 hp tractors are still selling for high dollars.

I stoped and looked at a ford 4000 (need somehting for the wife's chistmas!!) on the side of the road the a few weeks ago. Gasser with an old off brand finish mower wanted $7500 FIRM. Was gone after 2 weeks on the road.

The economy sure cut down on the exhibitors at the tractor shows. But also at the car shows as well.

Depends on the area I guess. Pretty toys arent moving much (show tractors, etc), but even junk working tractors seems to be out of sight. At auction a few weeks ago I saw several JDs (4430-3020-etc) not running, water in oil, etc bring around 10,000.

The biggest hits I saw were when fuel first went up, seemed like the market dropped 25 percent off the top. After that its held firm,
