My son-in-law will raise turkeys for Circle Hill Farms of Ellsworth Iowa the owners of those 2 turkeys next year.

My late mom grew turkeys along with chickens, pigs
and guineas. We ate pretty good during the Depression. Had milk too. Hal

My uncle in North Dakota raised turkeys. That was my summer job for I don;t know how many years . 150,000 or so at a time , usually two batches , some years 3 . Not much fun , pretty much tied to them like milking cows . Made lot of good money on them for years , then market and costs turned sour.

Reminds me of my uncle in Wis. He raised turkeys. Had his own huge hatchery. Raised them from the egg all the way out to full sized birds ready for the dinner table. 75,000 at a time. Rented large sand farms that had small lakes and ponds. Set out feeders for them but no buildings. They roosted in the trees at night. Had a couple of guys in a pickup truck with guns and a dog to keep predators away, usually packs of wild dogs or foxes. Wolves were all gone then and coyotes hadn't appeared yet. I'll never forget seeing all those turkeys.

Bush didn't pardon any angels unless it was the turkey. Showed all 5 of them on TV. He should've pardoned those 2 Border agents that were convicted for doing their job and throw that proscutor in jail for convicting the wrong persons.

Pardoned a drug dealer that was arrested with 1.5 million in cocaine? i cant wait to hear an explanation to that!

We'd start them out in buildings, then turn them out into huge pens . Gramma was the ultimate trapper . This was always an easy meal for preditors . She could look at a dead turkey , tell what killed it , how and where to set traps for it . We ran traps every other day . Fox , skunk , coon , she even got a wolf one time,DNR was all over that , taking pictures etc. Owls & hawks , bunch of those too DNR didn;t approve but didn';t say anything either .
